This busy Goddess took time out to chat with Flirty and Dirty and answer a few questions. Check it out..
Why/how did you come to choose baseball as the sport revolving around The Perfect Game? This book is basically a huge part of my college life all wrapped up in one fictional tale. Baseball is the only sport I love. I grew up watching it and I played softball for over 12 years. The bottom line is, I know baseball (and ball players) intimately. I feel comfortable talking about the sport, the stereotypes and the guys who play it. Is there something about the name Jack?– because you had a similar name in Chance Encounters– Jax/Jackson LOL- I only realized that AFTER I freaking named Jack, Jack. In all honesty, Jack’s original name was Logan. And the book was originally called “leap of faith.” Once I really got into writing the story, Logan wasn’t a strong enough of a name for me for this character and I needed something STRONGER- something that sounded good coming out of a loud-speaker (no offense all the Logan’s and Logan mommy namers out there). I literally sat on my couch yelling JAAAACK ??? CARTERRRRRRR and I was like, “yep. That’s the name.” lol I love Cassie’s character. I love her smart mouth. I definitely see you in her. Have you always been that girl? YES! I have always been a sarcastic, smart-assed, foul-mouthed sassy pants. That’s one of the things the real Jack Carter said about why he liked me. My attitude and its problem. LOL Name a couple of songs from The Perfect Game playlist. EASY! It’s way more modern of a playlist than I would usually use to write, but it’s what worked for me. This thing was on repeat the entire time I wrote. You are a rock star photographer yourself. What is it about photography that you love so much? Everything that Cassie loves about photography is very much what I love. When I wrote what she loved about it, I really dug deep into what I loved about it and wrote it from my heart. I love the freedom of photographing things the way I choose to see them- framing them how I want- no rules- not bound by anyone else’s opinion, view or demands.. I’m big on freedom right now. lol Tell us one thing about you not related to writing or photography. I’m INCREDIBLY spiritual (not religious). I believe in ghosts, spirits, reincarnation and that people can really talk to the dead. But then again, if you’ve read In Dreams, you already know this about me. He kept his body separate, their lips and his hands on her wrists the only connection. When he broke away, he shifted the hand holding her down, threaded his fingers through hers and gripped hard. The tenderness in his gaze forced her to look away.
Okay people… the Flirty and Dirty gals were lucky enough to be granted an interview with Kellan (lead singer) and Griffin (lead guitarist) from the famous D-Bags!!!!! I know– SQUEEEEEEEE. We just had to share with you all. So here it is…
As you all know Flirty and Dirty Book Blog’s most favorite band EVER is the Douchebags (or D-bags as they are also know) from Seattle, WA. Kellan Kyle, the lead singer, has a voice that can turn you into a quivering mess. The man is sex on legs. If you don’t believe us just ask some of the ladies who were lucky enough to have membership in the “I’ve had sex with Kellan Kyle club”. Sadly ladies Mr. Kyle is taken, he and his lovely girlfriend Keira seem to be going strong (we get first dibs if they break up!!!). Griffin is the sexy bassist, he’s an absolute man-whore but from what we hear, he’s worth it ;-). Kellan and Griffin have agreed to take some time out of their busy schedules to sit down and answer a few questions for us.

Kellan and Griffin, thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us, we are two of your biggest fans EVER!
Kellan: Thank you very much. It’s always nice to meet the fans.
Griffin: Do we screw now or after the interview?
Kellan: Griff, if you’re going to keep coming with me to these things, you need to stop asking the interviewer that.
Griffin: What? It’s a valid question. I need to know what order we’re doing things.
Are you currently on tour and if not do you have any tours coming up?? Your fans want to know where to find you!
Kellan: We’ve been touring off and on, but the really big tour is starting March 5th. We’re hitting just about everywhere, so you should be able to find us pretty easily.
Griffin: Especially me. I stand out.
Kellan: Your ego certainly stands out.
Griffin: So does my johnson.
Is Keira or will Keira be on tour with you? If so, do you travel separate from the rest of the band or are you all on the bus together?
Kellan: Yeah, she’s coming. We’re all one big happy family on the bus.
Griffin: Yep, one big incestuous family.
Kellan: Not funny.
Griffin: Made me laugh.
What’s it like being stuck on a tour bus with a bunch of Douchebags?? LOL sorry we couldn’t resist that one! In a confined space with a bunch of dudes for long periods of time must be tough (but us Flirty and Dirty girls would love to find out ~wink wink~) especially with Griffin!
Kellan: I don’t mind us all being together. It’s fun. But…touring does have its challenges. There are definitely a few things I would change, if I could. But overall, it’s great.
Griffin: Don’t be such a wuss. Every single minute of it is fucking fantastic.
Have you written any new material for the Douchebags? If so, was there any particular inspiration behind your writing?
Kellan: I’m constantly writing new stuff. They may or may not make it into a song, but I’ve got pages and pages of lyrics. Most of the time I’m inspired by life, either my own or someone I’m close to. I like to write about things that matter to me.
Griffin: Like that song about banging random broads that you can’t even remember?
Kellan: That’s not what that song is about, Griff.
Griffin: Yeah, okay, Kell. Whatever. I’m not an idiot. I can put two and two together.
Kellan: Hmmm…do you know what two plus two equals?
Griffin: Fuck you.
Kellan: I’ll take that as a no.
The ladies really want to know, ok we really want to know, what was it about your girlfriend Keira that made you fall in love with her? We are sad that you are taken but we very much love your girl!
Kellan: If you had a chance to meet her, you wouldn’t have to ask me what it was about her that made me fall so hard. You’d know. There’s just so much to love about Kiera. She’s warm, caring, absolutely beautiful. She’s a gift. I’m grateful every day for her.
Griffin: God, you’re so whipped.
Have you moved into the twenty first century yet and given up your Walkman for an MP3 player?? Who are you currently listening to?
Kellan: I don’t have time to figure that crap out. My Discman works just fine. I think I’ll keep it.
Griffin: Hey, Kell…what’s two plus two?
Kellan: It’s fuck and you.
Griffin: Dude, you gotta write that down. Those would be awesome lyrics.
You have a lot going on in your life, with the anticipated arrival of your daughter. We were all surprised to hear that you were being taken off the market, but are you really off the market??
Griffin: Who the fuck said I was being taken off the market? I’m gonna be a dad…I’m not dying.
How excited about becoming a father are you? Any words of wisdom for soon-to-be fathers?
Griffin: I can’t fucking wait. It’s gonna be awesome. I’m totally gonna teach her the guitar. She’s gonna be my rocker chick. And I’m gonna teach her to not let any dude fuck her over. That’s what all dads should teach their daughters.
Kellan: Interesting.
Griffin: What? Guys suck. I’m gonna teach my girl to stay away from ‘em.
Kellan: Very interesting.
How do you feel about raising a daughter? I mean after all of the women you have bedded, how do you feel about someone treating your daughter that way?
Griffin: Huh? I’ll chop off any guy’s nads if he even looks at my girl wrong.
Kellan: God, do you even listen to yourself?
Griffin: What the fuck are you going on about? I’m talking about protecting my little girl.
Kellan: And you don’t see any correlation between how you treat women and how you want your daughter to be treated?
Griffin: Uh…no. Those chicks aren’t my kid. What do I care what they do? Or who they do…especially if it’s me they’re doing. Like I’m gonna put a stop to that.
How is Anna feeling? Are you being attentive, looking after her needs?
Griffin: Oh, don’t you worry. I take care of any need Anna has. Repeatedly.
Kellan: And loudly.
Griffin: Hey, I can’t help it if my girl’s a screamer.
Kellan: I meant you.
Griffin: Fuck, if you knew the things Anna can do, you’d scream too.
Will Anna and the baby tour with you or will you be solo? Does Anna trust you?
Griffin: Trust me with what? Anna and me, we don’t have rules. Not like this pussy-whipped pansy.
Kellan: Hmmm…
Will you change your skirt chasing ways to settle down as a family man?? There will be a lot of broken hearts if that happens!

Griffin: Here, I’ll show you. You can see for yourself how I got the nickname. Careful though, you do not want to make him angry.
Kellan: Jesus Christ, Griff. Zip up your pants! God, I apologize. He’s very unprofessional.
This question is for both of you… what is it about being on stage that you love? (Griff, you’re not allowed to answer ‘women’)
Griffin: What do you mean I can’t answer women? You want me to lie? Fine…tits. I get flashed every night, and I fucking love it.
Kellan: You’re so deep, Griffin. It’s like I can feel my mind expanding when you talk.
Griffin: Hey, I’m just being honest. You’re gonna be lame and say music, aren’t you?
Kellan: Well, that is a highlight. And the fans. I just love being able to connect with them. And seeing them singing along. I love that. There’s something surreal about watching someone sing words that I created. It’s incredible. I’ll never get tired of it.
Griffin: Yep. Lame.

That’s a really hard question. I’m sort of all over the place. I love Jimmy Choo shoes, Proenza Schouler handbags, have a lot of Free People, Alice + Olivia, Alexander Wang, Urban Outfitters. I’m kind of excited about where my new school is located. I get to dress for fall! I got a gorgeous Burberry leather-trimmed trench coat, the most adorable bright yellow Hunter wellies. I really don’t stick to certain brands. I order a lot online. Shopbop.com is my favorite. And I love Barneys. Barneys shoe department=heaven.
We know you are just settling into your new life and all but we are gonna ask you a tough question… Are you worried that Vincent will be able to find you? … You just seem so calm about all this. Sorry we know this is a sensitive question.
I’m really not that calm about it. I’m a wreck inside. And I’m very worried he will find me. But after what happened with my little sister, I had to do what I did. I had to listen to Garrett, who is an expert at all this. I don’t think it’s going to be easy at all. I’ve been told that Vincent hasn’t given up. He’s been (okay, so I shouldn’t tell you this because it’s actually in the next book, so, shhhh…) at my school. He’s following Cush around. He even danced with Vanessa at a club. All those things make my skin crawl. I hated leaving my friends, especially Cush, without saying goodbye, but I want them to be safe. I want me to be safe too.
Was there absolutely no way to let Cush know you were okay and that you love him? You just got him back… how are you feeling about all that? Are you really in love with him? You are crushin’ on the god of all HOTTIES. I mean we get why… but Cush- sorry we have a soft spot for him.
I feel bad about Cush too. Am I in love with him? Really truly in love with him? Probably not. I thought I was. In that perfect moment at my party, I felt like I finally figured everything out. That he was the one. And I just said it. I probably shouldn’t have. And I know I kinda have a thing for shoes, but HE GAVE ME BOOTS! The. perfect. boots. He said the perfect things. But I was not at all over B when I said it. I just sort of blurted it out.
But then I came here. Kicked a soccer ball at the hotties’ head. And BAM! It was like lightning or something. I think I believe in love at first sight. Do you? Mom and Tommy fell in love right away. I definitely fell in love with B when I first met him, but that ended up being….hell, I don’t even know what we are. We broke up, but then I slept with him before I left. I know, don’t judge. I sort of thought it was breakup sex. But lately he acts like it was makeup sex. He really confuses me. All his talk about fate. I personally would like to kick fate’s ass right about now.
So um… Damian. He’s hot! How come you and him never hooked up. He’s cute, he’s good to you and gets you and he’s a rockstar!!! What’s not to want?
Awww, I love Damian. He is a good friend. He’s the kind of friend I can go months without talking to, but the minute we’re back together it’s like no time has passed. And he has gotten super cute lately. He’s not quite a rock star yet, but I think he will be someday. I hope he will be. It’s really his dream. Not the rockstar part so much, but to make music that lots of people want to listen to. His voice, it’s oh so dreamy. But we grew up together. He feels more like my brother. I can’t imagine kissing him. I think it would just feel wrong. But he’s adorable and I hope he finds the perfect girl for him.
So enlighten us cuz we just aren’t getting it… Why the heck do you put up with Vanessa. She’s more harm than good. You are gorgeous, popular (and not cuz of your mom) and your smart. What exactly is her hold on you?
Honestly, I think the hold that most mean girls have on people is their lack of confidence. I lacked confidence around her for a long time. I was afraid she would tell everyone about something I thought was embarrassing. (Not having sex with Sander.) Everyone thought we were the perfect couple. I liked being the perfect couple. And then when I tried to break free of her. To make my own group of friends, I kinda turned into a bitch. I didn’t want that either. And you know what happened with Mandy. Truth is, it is easier to let Vanessa deal with that stuff. And I’m really not gorgeous. I do get good grades, but I really I don’t know why I was popular. Is it because of my mom? Because of my relationship with Sander? Because I hung out with Vanessa? I don’t really know. I don’t really think I’m all that special. Like my mom, she just shines whenever you are around her. I don’t think I have that shine.
Ok, we have to know cuz I’m (Denise) a Cush girl and Nicola is a B girl… (whispering the question) who’s better in bed? We promise we won’t tell anyone.
That’s like comparing a Jimmy Choo to a Christian Louboutin. They are both good shoes. They are also different. Cush was more of a wham, bam, thank you ma’am kind of guy. Steamy, hot, and usually fast. He was maybe more concerned about making himself feel good. Brooklyn was sweet and adorable. He’s the kind of guy that cares more about making you feel good. You know he’s into karma and all that shit. His philosophy of give good karma and you will get good karma in return definitely fits his sexual style. I’d say B was also definitely more romantic. He quoted me poetry for gosh sakes! He would write our names in a heart in the sand. You know how it is. The guy your with always seems great until he does something to break your heart.
So we know things didn’t exactly work out with B couple wise. Do you regret your summer with him? Would you change anything regarding B?
I’ll never regret anything with B. He was my first real love. We had the most amazing summer together. I think part of me will always love and care about him. Even though Cush was super hot and sexy, I still wish B would have been my first. I think we choose boys like we choose outfits based on the weather. With everything that was going on at school, B was the relaxed, calm, chill kind of guy that I craved. He helped balance me. It will be interesting to see how going on the surfing tour will affect him. I have a feeling he might like the spotlight once he’s in it.
You have such a flare for fashion and you love music and dancing, have you considered a career in the fashion or music industries?
I told Damian if he ever does a video, I want to be in it! I do love fashion, but I really think I want to act.
And a random question cuz we just love our music— what’s currently on your iTunes playlist?
Of course lots of Twisted Dreams, but right now, Breathe by He is We, is my favorite song. After everything that happened, it’s sorta become my theme song. I listen to it a lot. It kinda makes me cry sometimes. Other times it sort of gives me confidence. After the incident, I felt like there was no air for me to breathe. Like I was being strangled. I also am apparently good at faking it because no one can tell all that’s going on inside me. The lyrics really resonate with me. But at school, I feel safer and like I can finally breathe again.
